An honest twist on newborn photography, a lifestyle newborn session is designed to capture the essence of the fourth trimester in a more authentic way. Captured typically within the first two weeks, these early days are the most incredible fusion of love, healing, and exhaustion. Don't let these tender memories slip away in the haze of hormones and sleepless nights without freezing them in time.
We'll work together to plan a time in your journey where you're feeling comfortable and connected- with both yourself, and your sweet new arrival. We'll spend less time posing, and more time feeling. We'll honour your body and quiet your mind with this bond-oriented style of newborn portraiture.
New motherhood is hard, but remembering it doesn't have to be.
Can I tell you a secret?
I didn’t do newborn photos with my son. We took a few snaps about a week postpartum, where I’m literally still in pjs and unbrushed hair- but that’s it. Fast-forward, at about the one year mark postpartum, what we had missed really hit me - and I bawled my eyes out. I could still cry just thinking about it.
My postpartum depression & anxiety was so thick in the beginning that I didn’t think I wanted to capture this time period. But looking back… that was my ONE shot to capture the most precious being in my life at his beginning. And I completely fumbled it.
I don’t want this to be you. If there was ever a ‘once in a lifetime’ moment, this would be it.
It doesn’t have to look polished and perfect. We can tune out the dishes piling up in the sink behind us, the overflowing laundry, and the crumbs on the floor.
But YOUR postpartum story, and these don’t-blink-or-you’ll-miss-it moments, we can’t let pass by.
Like your grandmother’s chocolate chip cookie recipe, these photographs are keepsakes and heirlooms. They should document your unique bond and provide a visual story for future generations.
Life moves so quickly and, as your family grows and changes, one thing is certain, and that is that it will never again look the exact way it does right now.
